This is the 875 canterwood chipset and was introduced for INtel' sline of 800fsb chips launched in late 2003...for socket 478 chips. I know it says server but this is not for prestonia core Xeons...

You can run 800fsb P4 northwoods on it...They go from 2.4c to 3.4c...They all have hyperthreading..

You can also run P4b's on it which only have 533fsb buses...They com efrom speeds of 2.26b to 3.06ghz, with the 3.06ghz being the only one with HT...

Here are my recommendations for that board.

Pentium 4 2.4C. I believe it's a Northwood core, which are AMAZING for overclocking. You're all but guaranteed an overclock to 3.2GHz, maybe more.

Pentium 4 3.4. It's the fastest available Socket478 processor. It's got a 1mb L2 cache. But it's a Prescott, which is more commonly known as the flamethrower of CPUs.

I found this page on the archive of Intel. Do this look correct to you?

Thanks again,

Yep...I didn't think it could do 400fsb chips though...maybe I was wrong...I wouldn't think of anything other then a northwood C with hyperthreading and 800fsb though....

I also doubt there will be ocing optins on this board so 2.4c while sweet for most may be a bit week....Really all the prices from 2.8 to 3.2ghz look good....I would avoid the prescotts, but that is my personal preference...

The prescott version require proper bios and revision which may be a bit hard to verify right now at yahoo...
