Can someone help me? Computer troubles

I'm at my wits end. I bought a Radeon 8500 off of FS/FT. Got it, when I installed it in my ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard, the board refused to post - beep, beep, beep. I seated, reseated, etc. Eventually I returned it to the seller thinking it to be a bad card. Seller emails me a pic of the card in action.

I let it go. This time I buy a brand new in box RADEON 9200. Now it does the same dern thing. It will post just fine with 2 nvidia cards I have laying around.

I've tried chaning several things in the bios to get it to boot. No joy. I even reset the cmos.

Funny thing is the video card will display the bios screen just fine, so it has to be working, right? It just won't let me boot - beep beep beep. When I reboot after that (hard reset) it will go to the bios screen. I save the bios settings and exit. . . beep beep . . .

What does the m/b manual say the beep code means?

No, it just starts the boot process then before any drive information or anything beep beep beep. . .

Then when I power down, it will come up into the bios screen. If I can see the bios screen and work in it just fine, the card is working, no? Why would it work with my nvidia cards and not this one?
