Hello. Hopefully someone will be able steer me in the right direction.

Last week, I noticed I was getting dropped signals which, I thought was my Motorola SB 5100. I later found out that if I pull the plug on the Router, and power it back up within 30 seconds, I get my signal back.

I'm using a Netgear WGR 614 (54 Mbps) and my service provider offers 15 Mbps download.

This is all so sudden for, it's been fine for 6 months. I'm not a heavy downloader, and never upload so, it can't be overloaded. The second computer is used maybe 2 - 3 times a month.

Why is this happening and, what can I do to remedy the problem?

Thank you.

If the signal is restored by cycling power on the router, then the router itself is having problems and you should contact Netgear for warranty support (assuming that the router is still under warranty) since it sounds like the radio or other control circuitry in the router is failing.
