Can someone explain this to me?

This is kind of a 2 part question. The first one is: Can anyone explain to me what "RAID" is? I know it has something to do with running dual HD's, but what? What kinds of benefits come with RAID?
Somebody straighten me out on this whole RAID thing PLEASE?!?!

2nd question is: what is the difference in these boards from IWill?

I thought the difference was the RAID controller, but that would only explain 1/2 of my confusion. The 'R' denotes RAID right? then what is the difference between the KA and KK?

In Tom's Hardware Guide, he explains the raid concept very well. something about, "redundant array of inexpensive disks". spreading the info through a number of disks to insure either not losing info or accessing it faster. buy the latest edition of tom's book and it will answer a ton of questions. i won't. ciao.

The KK266 boards are based on the KT133A chipsets, regular SDRAM but running at 133 FSB.

The KA266 boards are the DDR memory boards.

I think DDR will be taking off very soon, but so far there has not been a lot of news out on it.
