Can someone explain Roger?

There's a member of the Anandtech forums named Roger who has a very intense dislike for "Trolls". He apparently just returned after some time away (everyone was welcoming him back) and I get the impression that he is some sort of on-line vigilante? Can someone fill me in on the history/details of this person? I only ask out of curiousity and I mean no disrespect to Roger or any members of this forum.

Thanks.

Roger eats the ones called trolls. He protects the members of Anandtech forums from their impish attacks upon us and rules with an iron fist. There are trolls among us, you may not see them, they are awfully short. They are here though, beware :Q

ltk, couldn't have said it better myself. ;)

In fact, there was a pointy-nosed troll recently banned. ;)

If you have any dealings in the "For Sale/Trade" Forums, you may get to know Roger.

He actively helps members to keep from being ripped-off by trolls (he has the very best advice of anyone there). He also helps members that have been ripped-off or has disputes regarding sales.

Roger was very active as a "Troll-Hunter" until his computer fried a few months ago. After a too long absence he is back on-line (and evidently active again as a "Troll-hunter").

He has been one of the very most helpful and trusted members of AT Forums. I can't say enough good about him from my personal dealings and what I have heard from others.

js1973 -- It may be that there is no Roger. No, wait a minute, he posts on the forums. Even so, he is a myth, like the Lone Ranger or Santa Clause. If you believe, he may appear to help you in a time of need. If you do not believe, and you trade among the trader, and cross that threshold between nice and naughty, he may come to haunt you in your dreams, in your neighborhood, or even at your front door.

If you are evil of heart, you cannot hide from him. He has mystical ways of finding the wrongdoers of the web and striking them low, as though he were plugged into a higher web than that surfed by mere mortals, such as thee and I. :Q

Aside from that, he's a pretty nice guy. :D

Rip some one off on the For sale/trade forums, and he will 'splain it himself. Honest traders love him, trolls fear him.

Actually he is a member of the board who tries to intervene when deals go bad. He has a gift for being able to work things out for people before the last resort of calling in the police and prosecuting. He offers his services to those who really need them.

The best people I've known for settling squabbles (couldn't think of a better word) have been real estate agents. Do you know what his profession is? Lawyer? Judge? It intrigues me that someone would expend their own personal resources (time mainly) to help people he's never really met. I mean there are members here, people like Red Dawn or Compuwiz1, who I feel I know after reading their posts time after time, but it's not the same as actually knowing them. Interesting.

Consider Rodger your best Hunting friend. He dosen't take your kills, he just puts the gun in your hand, adjusts the scope, wipes your brow, gives you a cup of coffee, and puts your ear plugs in. YOU pull the trigger. :)

BTW, he is back? :Q I haven't seen him in ages
