Can someone explain how these bluetooth GPS receivers work?

Hello, so I saw this receiver and was curious about how it works. So lets say I have a bluetooth enabled PDA, do I just have the two devices recognize each other then it will give me GPS? Do I need to download any software? Also I have a RAZR cell phone, could I use this and get gps on my phone? Thanks

my friend has one of those.

you need the correct pda software and it works nice just like a regular gps device. I'm thinking of buying one too. I'm not sure if that would work with a phone though.
