I want to build a game pad that will interface with a keyboard.
Basically you lay your left hand (or right hand if you're left handed) on it, it's shaped like your hand and has a programmable button for every finger, maybe two for your thumb. It also has a front / back / side to side axis that it would rotate on for move forward / back / side to side or strafe.
With one of those and a mouse for your other hand, one could kick some major ASS!!

It would plug into your PS2 port and then your keyboard would piggyback off of it

A friend of mine took apart a keyboard in HS. He had the actual board itself wasn't harmed, just cut apart and applied to the outside of a leather glove. Touching different knuckles/fingers together would close different circuits to get whatever key he wanted --obviously very limited, he used it playing games. Our senior year was a total goof off in the computer room during first period. He used that thing and a mouse to kick everyone's asses in UT. It was insane. :confused:

Years ago, Viper GTS was looking for this "orb" thing like that. It was a big ball that you roll around. Kinda like a trackball on fvcking steroids. We used to play Descent a lot and he said it would kick ass. He never found it, though. Thank god. I had a hard enough time keeping the score respectable against him anyway. I didn't need anything ELSE to help me lose. :p

isn't that kinda like 'the claw' they sell at thinkgeek and the like? i think microsoft came out with one like it too?

i took apart a keyboard and wired the keys to a nintendo game pad thing...
it works like a charm with mame :)

it took mad long to figure out what pin combinations did what...
but besides that its ez as hell...

shoulda used ps2 controllers
