I mean what is this... someone posts a OT post EVERY day asking where someone is w/ out pming them or emailing them...or after 3 or 4 hours.

I post a legitimite bad trader thread and I get locked. Something is unbalanced IMO.

Between the heatware requests,( which can be done via pm) and "where is personx" (which can be done via pm) and "has anyone traded w/ this traders (heatware) and "Excellent trader alert posts (these are not necessary imo...thats what heatware is for.

Maybe I'm out of line or way off...but IMO they're getting excessive. Off topic posts are not allowed in the hot deals...why are they welcome in fs/ft.

I do realize some are needed...like troll alerts....but the rest seem to be a waste of forum space.

I tend to agree...maybe the mods are on spring break? :) I'd volunteer to help, but I guess that won't fly. Also, I have a hard time believing that the mods get so much work load that they can't even answer emails, or maybe I'm just ignorant as to what "really" goes on... :)

Ahh Red, but you misunderstood... And was partly my fault because I didnt do the -best- job of explaining it.

the guy ----DID---- say he'd ship first. And to this day (about 3 weeks now) he still hasnt replied.

I went back and read my post after I got some negative feedback and realized that many people probably thought that

The guy did agree though....so thats a deal.

That'd be just like if I pmed you about a hard drive you're selling and you required me to send first for whatever reason and I say "Yah I'll send you the money tomorrow" and then all the sudden 5 days later you're expecting payment and it doesnt show up and I refuse to answer emails.

You'd be pissed too...and I think other people would want to know about that. I needed that card...and I told the guy I NEED the card ASAP and he said no problem.

Shrug, that sucks.. But is it really a TROLL? A troll would have *stolen* your money. This is less needed on the F/S forum than the "excellent trader" posts (which I enjoy). After all this is what heatware is for. :)

I would just give the guy a negative on heatware, thank your lucky stars you didn't agree to crosship, and leave it at that. IMO you need to have a loss of property or money to really screw over someones rep there. *ONE* post like that, where a guy could say be in the hospital after getting into a car wreck, would ruin his chances of EVER trade again just because he didn't send you some video card or whatnot as promised. And I can guarantee you, if myself, or a loved one, went into the hospital the LAST thing on my mind would be "oh crap, I better let that guy on anandtech know whats up so he doesn't get pissed". It all changes however, if I had their money/goods. :)

I dunno, peoeple are SERIOUSLY doing the "me-too!" thing on the "troll alert" posts. Getting sick watching people wait like ONE DAY for a response and then go slam someone. Blame it on stupid 16 year olds or whatever, it's still definitely ruining a portion of the trading experience here. I just remember getting in on AGN back about 2 years ago, and never saw this type of thing really.. just seemed more friendly.

Oh well, I'm not slamming you either. But I personally don't believe your post belonged there soley for the reason that it wasn't warranted. I say keep the legit troll alerts coming, and keep the "great trader" threads. The other "heatware check" or whatnot can go into PM I believe, but also remember heatware should *never* be your end-all means of validating a good trader. (yes, I've learned this the hard way. :p)

peace,

-Phil
