Can someone confirm this shareaza site is legit?

Red Squirrel

No Lifer
I know there's a scam one and I always get confused which is which, I'm guessing this is the right one but can someone confirm?

http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/

They keep changing their url so it makes it harder to find. Last I checked it was hosted at [something]security.com.

Also speaking of p2p apps can someone recommend a better one? I normally use torrents but I also like the p2p apps for quick searches for items I might not easily find with torrents, and it also makes it easier for me to share my own stuff and I can just tell people go to search for it, that and it's easier for non computer people to use, so I normally install it on their PC if they request, most people for some reason always go to limewire which is filled with spyware.

Well if they hijacked Sourceforge, that would really be something. If you want to be sure it isn't getting redirected, go to sourceforge.net, search for it, and then use that link.

Go with Frostwire. It borrows heavily from Limewire Premium's code, but gets rid of all the annoying crap.

Is it spyware free? I might look into it.

And I am sure it's legitly on sourceforge but I was thinking maybe the hackers just "legitly" put it on there.

I'm pretty sure I remember the real one being on source forge so I'm like 99% positive it's the right one.

IMO it should be illegal to mimick another software to scam people.
