Hi guyz,
I am very poor and am in need of great help. I will be moving out of my apartment on July 20 and need a place to live. Can you please build me a little 10x10 or 8x8 bunkhouse offgrid? I have a place in mind where to have it built. I don't need anything fancy no sink no bathroom no shower room just a square or rectangular space where I can sleep and eat. I have very limited budget. If you're not a builder yourself do you know anyone who can help with that? I live in Indianapolis area. Oh one thing I do need in a bunkhouse is the built-in wood stove so it can be used for cooking and heating for the winter..

Thank you

That's something you can do yourself, and you can do it almost free by scavenging supplies out of construction dumpsters. If you don't give enough of a shit to take care of yourself, why should anyone else do it for you?

I was going to pay you for the parts and labor I wasn't asking to build it for free. But I don't mind free I can accept that also.
Building house, or bunkhouse in this case is not quite that simple as you make it out to be. There is also time needed to build and remedy issues that may come up. I don't have resource nor skills or experience to do such. You can also volunteer to help out by building it for me. Jesus says help those that are in need... Have you forgotten?

And several days ago Comcast shut off my internet (i stopped the service cause I can't keep up with past due bills) so I'm using my cell phone. The phone service is paid by my parents. But even the high speed internet has breeched cause i used up the bandwidth and it kicked down to 128kb down or something.

I need help. Can anyone of you donate me money via paypal? Just to cover my pastdue bills this is not even counting the fund I need for a bunkhouse project. I have like 3 & 1/2 months left before i get kicked out of my apartment.

The lord helps those that help themselves if you're fond of trite sayings. Nobody was born knowing how to do anything. It's all learned, and there's been no time in history when learning was easier. All world's knowledge is in your pocket. You just need the will to learn. If you screw it up, do it again, but better. I'm certain you can find free plans to build a small house or shed. Most materials can be scavenged, and tool requirements are minimal.

edit:
you can also get a used shipping container fairly cheap. Live in it plain while you learn to make it more homey.

You're in luck, I started on one last year. :p Shingles and siding going in once it starts to get warmer. May also do solar this year too, not sure yet. Depends if I can find a good price on solar panels locally.

It's open concept, that's pretty much what's in now, so I will have to charge more for rent.

It's odd that you're destitute but still own land to build on.
I don't own a land. where did i say i own a land? I said i have a land in mind where to have house delivered. I was thinking about leasing the land in a residential area. That was from the tiny house thread i started recently. This thread is different. If leasing a land doesn't work out i may have to either have someone build me a little bunkhouse in the wilderness in the trees..nearby where poor homeless people live. At the worst case scenario i may have to settle for a tent and a woodstove to cook and heating.

I assumed you owned property because you can't build a structure on land you don't own. You also can't build a shed to live in anywhere that has building codes.
It seems to me that it's time to move back in with mom and dad.
What's with the expensive stuff in your sig? Are those things you purchased? If so, I know why you need to live in a box in the woods.

Thanks for the enlightenment. Unfortunately my cell phone internet is so slow it won't play any videos.. Thats a nice tiny house development you got going on there judging by the pic. I may need some input from you on some advice on building a house in the near future. I have 3.5 months to figure out what to accomplish cause i will be homeless on july 20.

For my bunkhouse I would like at least 8x8 in size. Would like a door with a lock. Would like one window. I want my floor insulated and walls insulated. Yes i want solar energy installed so i can use my computer and monitor. Use a woodstove for cooking.

If you are serious about this you need to try to find land that is in an unorganized township. Any land that is within any city jurisdiction is going to have so much red tape it will be cost prohibitive, and probably not allow a tiny house or something custom but will have very strict requirements and require building permit etc. Lots of red tape and BS. Unorganized townships tend to have more freedom.

I'm actually toying with the idea of buying a piece of land like that myself... though I might hold off and wait until the mortgage is paid off as something better might pop up. My ideal property is like 5-10 acres of road accessible forest land that is lake front and in an unorganized township. There is not a lot of that available though. When I'm really serious I may just get a realtor as they may have better resources to find something like that.

It seems you should get yourself to a very warm very liberal state.

Those were audio cable signature that anandtech forum won't let me get rid of. I don't have those cables anymore as i threw them away 3 years ago. Can you tell the admin to have my sig removed? there must be software issue with the web interface.
Do you live in a house or apartment?

I would love to. As a matter of fact I want to move to the hottest place on earth so I don't need to worry about high electric bill or making heat. This winter has been one of the worst.

You threw away cables that you paid $60k for? Again, I know why you're broke.

I made a down payment and enrolled on installment payment plan for 6 some years. I was still making payments even when I didn't have the cables. Patrick was merciful to me and agreed to cancel the payment. I thanked him a lot.

You still haven't answered my question. Do you live in an apartment or a house? And what city state do you live?

People are building some amazing stuff with cardboard these days. Really, nothing beats crawling into a box, pulling the little flap closed behind you, and settling down for comfortable nights rest. We all know how important rest is before starting a long day of sitting around.

OP, I don't know if they have cardboard in Indianapolis but you might ask around.
