You've probably heard the myth that this is not possible because you can't make someone do something they would not normally do. But this might not be so true after all.

Sirhan Sirhan has stated he was hypnotized to kill Robert F. Kennedy. Whether he was or wasn't isn't the issue but whether it can be done.

In this video hypnotist Derren Brown shows how it can be done.

I find how the human mind works, or in some cases doesn't as you would expect, fascinating.

So do you think it's possible to "program a killer"?

Yes that's the term for it. When you get a chance watch the video it's interesting how he puts people under using various techniques. Derren Brown is pretty talented in what he does.

Someone mentioned in the comments section of a different video I haven't posted, that learning about the NLP techniques marketing and salespeople use unbeknownst to most people was akin to the movie They Live, when someone puts the glasses on and can see...

I've noticed some if these techniques myself and it is quite amusing how we can tap into your subconscious. It notices things your conscious mind doesn't (in some people more than others) unless you're aware of it like I am for example.

As far as the hypnosis and perception sometimes being a bit different than reality (like when they have people stick their hand into very cold ice water and they don't pull out despite the pain because they have been hypnotized to think it's warm.

Reminds me of the story I once heard about elephants. When an elephant in a circus for example is very young and small it is trained to stand still with a rope tied around it and the other end tied to a spike into the ground that it can't pull out. Later when the elephant is much bigger and capable of easily ripping the spike out of the ground if it wants to, doesn't because it still has the (erroneous) perception that it still can't from years of training. Some hypnosis is done with repetition as well. In another video he plays a recording over and over for a half an hour in a mall, then at the end he gets a lot of people walking around in the mall to raise their hand subconsciously.

The scene in Water for Elephants is pretty good where the elephant takes the stake out of the ground, gets a drink, then goes back and put it back in the ground again.

Lot of people in here think they know more than they do about a subject. Anyone done any research on it? Have any evidence to present or just guesswork?

They do do it there, but it usually wears off.

I wasn't an exceptional Marine in reality by their book, I knew what was coming going in and it never truly overpowered my independent thought and just did my 4 years at the time.

Still was worth doing IMHO.

The scene in Troll for Postcounts was good where trolls were immolated by nucular weapons for jesus.

No idea, you''re the ones that brought up elephants and stakes, and how it relates to training them.

It is a circus movie directly related to what you where describing, I take it you haven't seen it.

You brought the issue up, why blasting me ?

I'm not trolling go watch the damned movie.

I can nef all nite and do that if was the idea.
