Below is the message which I periodically get in the middle of a session.

"The instruction at "0x01725f6c" referenced memory at "0x01725f6c".
The memory could not be "read". Click on the OK button to erminate the program.

[Iexplore.exe Application Error]

What is the simplest way to solve this problem?

Assuming it is one of my memory chips which I installed a couple of years ago, is there a way to find out which one?

Do I replace both of them?

How do I make sure it isn't a memory problem on the motherboard which may/may not
be permanently attached?

It would suck if I replaced the memory chips and found out that it wasn't the "replaceable memory"...

I am running a Dell 2350 on Windows XP and have 1 Gig of Ram....

Thanks again for all your support/time/feedback...

Do you only get memory errors using ie? If so I doubt it's a ram issue. Most likely there is a plugin loaded in ie, like spyware, that is causing IE to crash.

thats a software error for sure, as MaceX says - most likely a browser plugin that's installed on your pc (possibly without your knowledge or consent)

have a look here and try some of these things http://forums.anandtech.com/me...3&threadid=1346173

also, have a think about any programs / drivers you may have installed recently, one of which may be causing this error message.
