Some people may scoff at my suggestion, but I bought a pair of Sony Xplode 6x9 3-way speakers about 3 years ago. I don't know of the specs on them, so I can't tell you much about them. I do not have an amp to them either.

Needless to say, they sounded f'n excellent back then, and I can honestly say they sound just as f'n excellent now. Great speakers, and I would buy Sony brand again.
