I need another wifi card. I currently use a netgear 54mbps wifi card.

can someone recommend a decent cheap one? The netgear ones are still around $50 and I bought this years ago. Should I go with 108 or 54? This one is pretty fast and I have no complaints.

Point blank, unless you do home networking. DSL = ~5Mbps. Maybe after a decade, we'll be at 54Mbps while Japan will be streaming the entire Internet. FYI, they're at 1Gbps on satellite.

yeah so why do they sell these 1gbps network cards?

so are you saying that the 54mbps is great?

Should I go with another netgear one?

While it is true that other countries have faster internet. U.S., IMO, is vastly behind because our infrastructure still needs upgraded, our population is not nearly as dense as other countries and companies here primarily want as much profit as possible while other countries use most of the money they get to actually upgrade things and get things running better & faster. The reason for faster network cards is simply for home or business networking where large file transfers take place. For 90% of home users, they only use their computers for internet and don't need anything more than a 10mb network card to get the job done.

Did you not read what I say? Geez. Anything above 5Mbps is only good for LAN that takes advantages of the speed.

So you're buying a new 54Mbps card to replace your 54Mbps card? Where's the logic in that? To top it off, your card is working great.

Yeah I am sorry I am dumb, but some time certain question deserve certain type of answers.

Wireless Speed depends only secondary on the Wireles cards.

If One doe s not have a special Wireless source that it is Turbo Charged, 802.11g Super. etc. any 802.11g card would do.

In addition if there is special 802.11g card, then One must need matching card from the same manufacturer.

Similar situation is with Draft-N.

So it is not that I did not read your post. Your post lacking any info to provide you with any Help.

I.e. Get the Edimax that cost only half of what you mentioned, and yield better result because if the extended Antenna.
