Can somebody recommend a good electric shaver?

My norelco isn't cutting it anymore (pun intended). It irritates my skin and generally doesn't cut it as close as I'd hope.

Yes I too am curious what the best shavers out there are? My cheap Phillips was good for a bit but once I let the face grow a bit, it parished in the thickness. The blades are worthless now. No point in replacing them cause they are good for a few shaves when it comes to thick hairs.

Panasonic linear shavers. Check epinions and Amazon for reviews.
I bought mine after doing a bit of research.

I have the Braun Syncro

Here

Works great, shaves close, but not so close that it hurts, cleans itself after every shave, stays charged. I dont have to buy new blades every week or so. The most I've spent on it is about 15 bucks replacing the cleaning cartridege and I have had it for about 6 months. And I shave everyday.

I have the Braun 8585, I absolutely hated electric razors before this one....

Was a Mach3 guy all the way but, the 8585 is great, My facial hair grows really really fast....and if I shave everyday with it, I get a good shave.... If I slack off for 2-3 days it seems to have prolems with the hairs on my neck but, other than that is is pretty darn great...

get a new norelco? 🙂

my norelco, which is about 7 years old also isnt working like it used to, but i still love it 🙂

Another vote for the Braun..........used most everything under the sun. Norelco and Panasonic were also good, but the Braun owned them both.

I love Norelco. Given it's not the closest shave in the world for me, it doesn't irritate at all. M3 irritates a lot more (but not much compared to some OTHER razors).. I don't use my Norelco cuz I hate cleaning and charging, but when I have irritated skin, I definitely switch back to Norelco and give my M3 a break.

Norelco vote here. Had my basic one ($30 Wal*Mart special) for a few years and never had a problem. Just shave every day because it takes longer if you get too much hair going on.
But from what I have read, unless you get into the really high end stuff, a shaver is a shaver. What you pay extra for is the amount of feedback the device can give, charging cradles, self-cleaning, lotion dispensing, etc...

There's no such thing, IMO.

The Norelco was about the best I tried, but it got dull from my insanely heavy beard in a short time, and felt like it was pulling the hair off my face..

Because it basically was!

I haven't used an electric since I was 19. A "short" 30 years ago!

I like my Braun. Is the Norelco the same as Philips. They look the same atleast.

I like my Braun but I might take a Philips if it broke.... except it's been running faultlessly for 4 years and I've only replaced the head once. Tough call but basically you get what you pay for.
