Here I am shopping for a new Nvidia video card and I am totally overwhelmed by the selection from the cheapest
Geforce MX 200 to the top of the line I don't even know what model it is anymore. Between the two models there must be a 5 dozen other Geforce cards from Geforce, Geforce II, Geforce III , Geforce 4. There's the suffix MX, Ti, and Pro it all gets so confusing.

Supercyrix - most people tend to agree that for 'bang for buck', the Ti4200 Geforce is just about the best card you can get. As you can see, it's not that much slower than the Ti4400/600 but it's much cheaper. Depends how far you're willing to let your wallet stretch I suppose :)

I would honestly suggest going with the Ti4400.. it OCs to Ti4600 levels easily. and all come with 128mb 3.3ns DDR ram.. and its only a couple bucks more than a Ti4200...

Not that it's either here nor there at this point, but the GTS-V is missing from the list. Goes in between the regular GTS and GeForce DDR.

GTS-V was only made by 1 company (visiontek), and it was rather, a modification of the GTS, rather than a whole new chipset.

Heh. Sucks to be 16. Sucks to be jobless. And sucks to be a student. Wow, the worst of 3 worlds :D
As for the video cards, i'm hella pleased with my 64 MB GF4 Ti4200. As you can see in the UT2003 demo, it outperforms most and the 64 does better than the 128 at lower cost. This'll probably change in the future, but since alot of games will use the UT2003 engine, expect great performance out of the 64 MB 4200 for a long time, and by the time it becomes obsolete, the 128 MB version will practically be too.

$139 on pricewatch for a 64 MB GF4 Ti4200. Cheap!

So what is the best Geforce4 4200 to buy? I looked at the round up but they're all pretty close... anyone seen the ASUS 8420 yet?
