I've got a job interview next Wednesday. I originally applied for one of their basic ISP support positions, but I'm going to try for one of their NOC positions. I have no experience at that level, but I'm confident I can pick it up quickly given the chance. I'm a senior level tech at my current job, & although there would be a slight pay increase going to their ISP support position I would really like to land a spot in their NOC.

I would like to at least have half a clue what I'm talking about by the time I walk in there Wednesday, anybody have any good links?

:)

No. ATM switches are delicate things, do not touch it when it runs, let it run.
Never try to update it. They can be wurth tenthousends o bucks and still work like f**k.

Very special, try 3com oeps...they stopped with it, but there still some info.

I had to do a similar thing recently - actually I was trying to cram for a corporate networking meeting that my manager told me I needed to attend and that I was expected to defend my dept.'s position in. I had no clue at all, so I picked up a book "ATM & SONET Basics" by Dobowski. Very good intro. It's expensive, but it will definitely get you a more than adequate intro and if it lands you the higher paying job, it will probably pay for itself inside of a day or two.

Thanks for the book tip, I'm ordering it right now. Overnight shipping should give me a few days to look it over.
