Hi,

My requirement is simple to explain. I just want to add email capability to one of our small networks. I want users to be able to email each other and send attachments while sitting on their disks.

What I know? I know that I need a domain network with Windows server, MS Exchange server and MS outlook. What I don't know? Everything else ^_^😛 as I haven't done it before myself.

Now I don't want to go ahead and try this on the production network, so I want try it first with a test network. I don't have the luxury of having multiple computers to link to each other, but what I can do is build 3 virtual machines using Vmware Workstation with one being Windows server and the other two being two client computers and test with them. Is there a good walk-through guide that you know of? I'm starting to do some reading myself but I always find it faster to ask in this awesome forum.

Thanks.

Go to Youtube and you will find tons of tutorials about domain controller, Exchange server and Outlook client.

Okay I will check youtube, although I prefer written material. I don't have office 365 and I also don't want to use it.

Youtube will give you a head start, you can find written materials which provide more depth on the web and on Microsoft's own sites. Or just buy books from Amazon.
