Can somebody explain the ending of Hannibal to me? (possible spoilers)

I didn't get to watch the end of the movie, so a buddy told me about it.

The gist of what I got . . . Clarice got shot, Hannibal took her back to her house and fixed her up, then the other guy (Ray Liotta, I think . . . ?) Then Clarice wakes up, staggers downstairs, and sits down to dinner. Then something about popping her buddies skull off and taking a chunk out of his brain?!? WTF? That seems a little . . . graphic . . . he was pulling my leg, right?

I must stress however that the ending in the movie was NOT even close to the ending in the book!

(though the "dinner" part was in there)

and then he chopped his hand off because clairice put hand cuffs on her with him.

then while he was on the plane, he fed some of the brain to a lil chinese kid, and the kid really liked it ;P

ther was also anohter ending at the end,

like 2 endings

Yeah, at this point Ridley Scott ruins the movie by making Clarice's character attack Hannibal which would NEVER FARKING HAPPEN. I hated this movie because it was overdone, and the characters were totally off from their book examples.

I heard in the book the airplane scene is in the middle when Hannibal was coming to American from Europe. They also expand on why he chopped off his own hand instead of Clarice's. He grew up in Poland when the Nazi's took over it. They went into a villiage and killed all the adults and forced the kids to spend the winter in a barn. Hannibal saw his sister killed and the whole winter the kids stayed alive by eating the ones who died. Clarice reminds Hannibal of his sister so he didn't hurt her.

that movie was awesome. extremely graphic and somewhat disturbing but i still liked it. the part where he feeds the little kid on that airplane is good. that's the very last scene isn't it?

He's tellin' the truth. The book is MUCH better than the movie.

Also, you never actually see Lecter cut his hand off, you see him swing & you see his arm bandaged when he's on the plane. What happened for sure is left for you to determine.
