Can somebody explain some Canadian Workplace Law for me...

Okay. On this link, it clearly says Boxing Day is federally a statutory holiday. This would require time and a half pay for us poor schmucks working part time. (Doesn't say on the site, but stick with me)

But...if you goto Alberta, Boxing Day is clearly not a statutory holiday.

How does that work?

Indeed we don't. I called in sick today because I'm genuinely coming down with a massive cold. I'm now fired until I bring a doctor's note proving that I am indeed sick.
