Can some of you guys post your ambient, case, and cpu temps? Just wondering if my thermistor is placed incorrectly.

My temps seem a little too cool to be true. So, I was wondering how mine compared to others out there.
Ambient:~60
Case:62
CPU:84(cracked keys all night)

I dunno if this helps any, as it's a bit of an apples and oranges comparison. Asus P3B-F, P3 FC-PGA 550@733 Mhz. These temps are at ~idle. The CPU temp can rise to 151F under heavy load, which is too damn high. Better cooling for case and CPU is in the mail.

Room = 78F
Mainboard = 82.4F
CPU = 104F

My Athlon 700 (w/800 core) at 800 Mhz, runs @ 114 F
That's with a room temp of 80 F

Of course that's with the CPU fans (Dual) running.

I ran it for a couple days with no CPU fans, I forgot to plug them in after I tested another CPU. Only have the Heatsink to cool it.

2 day later I noticed it running at 165 F !!!!
(It was probably even hotter when I was playing Games the night before)

Luckly no damage.

Good thing I have good venting in the case.

I also run pretty cool...

CPU:

Idle: 82F
Heavy Load: 91F tops (Prime 95 Torture Test, Q3)

Board:

Idle: 72F
Heavy Load: 80F

Room Temp: 75-79F

I have the temp sensor on the thickest part of the heatsink, right next to the CPU backplate, in the middle lengthwise. Hope this helps.
