Can Softmodding Damage a Video Card

I just got an 6800 128MB AGP , i've tried unlocking the extra pipes and shaders.... and it worked flawlessly.... my question is that does enabling these unused pipes at shader increase the heat generated by the GPU ? are there any chance that it'll damage the video card.... i don't wanna overclock it...

I've found that with my 6800 128MB AGP by BFG that when I unlock the extra pipes you get better results than OCing it with the stock 12 pipes, however with the extra 4 unlocked, you can't get very impressive overclocks. Some where like 50/75 mHZ.
