I'm assuming you have a Pioneer drive as thats the only company I know of that makes a slot type drive. If it is I think you need some kind of special caddy for the mini CD's/DVD's otherwise the disc could get stuck.

No, slot drives cannot take mini CDs. The loading mechanism cannot grab the mini CD properly, and you may end up "losing" the mini CD inside and possibly damage the drive.

I just pulled out the manual to my 16x Pioneer DVD-ROM and yeah you can do it but you do need an adapter. Unfortunately I've never seen one so I don't have the slightest clue as to where you would be able to find one.

My grandchildren put a mini disk in the floppy drive and it went right in. It only took about half an hour to get it back out.

As someone else noted, you need an adaptor to use a 3" CD/DVD in a slot load drive.
These adaptors aren't very common these days...They were more common around 1987-88, when
the record companies were trying to sell 3" CDs and even tray-style CD drives couldn't play them.

If you use one in a slot loading drive without an adaptor, you are sure to regret it!

1- put it in your dvd player
2- get an el-cheapo dvd drive (regular)
3- go to friends house

The marketing manager of one of our clients lost his credit card one day...I found it in his floppy drive to his home pc when he was complaining of it not working....his son had posted it in....hoping to get some money out I think.

I did have a couple of early 90's singles that had some of those adaptors...but I sold them ages back, I personally haven't seen them anyway ever for sale on their own....I think it will be damn good luck if you do find one anyway.

How about glueing the mini-dvd to the bottom of a regular cd and putting it in the drive :D

Corm

nb: do not try the glue idea ;)

Cut a 3" hole in the middle of a CD with a hole saw or a dremel. Then, tape the Mini-DVD into the hole you just made and put it into your drive!
