can RAM itself ever be at fault when running an uneven memory ratio? (overclocking)

240mhz bus on my FX8310 with a 3:10 divider keeps my DDR3-RAM at 1600mhz.

I encountered memory errors quickly enough using memtestwin with the bus at this speed, but so far so good back at stock 200mhz.

So I have a couple questions:
  • can RAM ever 'not like' an odd divider/ratio?
  • I think my CPU itself (1.33v), and L3 cache (1.35v), are sufficiently volted to not be the problem. Is there a northbridge or southbridge that I might need to give extra voltage to help with the higher bus speed?
  • am I forgetting anything? I had something else to write here but forgot it.

What ram? - make and model?

What CPU and motherboard?

What voltage, timings and frequency are you running?
