can RAM be shared with video memory??!!Help please

Hi, Am looking for a cheap way to upgrade my video memory (my motherboard has an integrated graphics chip but only 2MB of memory for video). I want to know if I can share some of my RAM with my video memory. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Also this is my first post here and hope am following the rules. Please be kind and let me know if not!! thanks

Look in your motherboard manual and see if you can share memory like you are talking about.

It depends on your chipset, or, more specifically your Northbridge chip which houses the memory controllers for main memory and your AGP (integrated) port. My guess is that with 2MB onboard, you have an ATI Rage LT or some variant, but without knowing which mobo 440BX, LX etc. won't be known for sure. I don't think older integrated parts had the ability to share system RAM, but not 100% sure on that one.
