I just got my dvd dual format burner and wanna backup my ps2 games. Can i use +R/+RW media since its not as nit-picky with the quality and its not as expensive as -R? Thanks.

There are many different DVD drives that were used in the PS2, so YMMV, but it should work just fine.

If I were to buy a new PS2 today, would the drive installed most likely play DVD+R?

According to the listing at dvdrhelp.com, it plays both - and + RW media. There are some instances listed in the review that do show some testers failing with certain RW media, but about as many successful with RW media (again, both + and - )

I wish the PS2 could play DVD+R movies, but they don't work. Does anybody know if -R movies work?
