Can programming become addicting?

I am working on this web app, have been for about the past 6 days straight, about 10 hours a day. I feel like neo, I walk down the halls of my dorm building and see code in the walls. Even when I close down all my coding apps, and step away from the computer, I end up coming back like a half hour later for more, my ass is sore. My eyes hurt, my hands ache, I have developed a red sore on my wrist from where my mouse hand rests on the table. So, can programming become addicting?

Yup. Which is why I have to laugh when people talk about how pot's addictive "psychologically."

Yes! Oh brother! I've been struggling with my addiction for years now. I'm so happy to have found another poor soul to share my feelings with. We should start a support group!

Yup... addicted to programming my openGL project... unfortunately I can't get into it that much because
I have to work on my other *boring* assignments.

coding is fun (specially when ur are doing stuff for school) but when u work in a big organization, the 'process', documentation, limitations (coz of retrofit), all these things combined take away the fun from coding

What kind of web app ? It better be ASP.net or Websphere (Java) if you're racking your brain for that long...

Yes.

The challenge of solving the problem. Of "beating the computer." Doing it fast, with few lines of code, with elegant, perfect code.

Absolutely.

Programming is making me think of changing from Computer Engineering to Mechanical. Bianry tree, iterators, quicksort...Awww...never thouhgt i would hate programming.

For me, it seems like when I start coding, then I get hooked to the program. But the "start" part is kinda tough. Maybe because i'm lazy
