Recently I bought a Maxtor Diamond Plus 30GB hdd. But I have had it changed for the 3rd time already. Some of my friends told me it could be the power supply unit that's at fault. And some of them told me that it could be heat problems due to the fact that it's running at 7200 RPM. I am getting quite frustrated here as the technicians over at Maxtor can't tell me what's the problem as well.
And I can't distinguished whether my PSU is APPROVED or NOT APPROVED. Please tell me how do I check whether it's Approved or not. And whether a PSU really have that huge impact on my system and hdd. Cause I was thinking, logically, if the PSU can damaged the hdd due to voltage fluctuation, then shouldn't my Celeron ship get fried first? since CPU is more heat and voltage sensitive.
I appreciate any help that I CAN get.
Thanks alot.
