Can ping one machine, but not vice versa

i have 2 machines:

1) win98se, 2 nics: one ip from isp, second ip 10.0.0.1 -- machine running nat router
2) win2k, 1 nic: ip 10.0.0.2

the win98 can ping the win2k...but the win2k can't ping the win98
anyone know what's wrong?

thx in advance

You can try using 2K's "route" command to set a static route to the 98's "internal" NIC and see if that helps.

Personally, if I were forced to choose between the 2 windoze boxen, I would put the 2 NICs and NAT on the 2K box, as it can handle ICS and that sort of stuff much better than 98.
