Can ping but cannot print help!!!

Hi All, I'm having a small problem with my HP LJ 5m as a network printer. I have setup a private network with ips 192.168.0.x and mask 255.255.0.0 and no gateway.

Now I can add the printer to my pc through IP, it detects the printer as a HP jetdirect and after I add it I can get the status of the printer (same info as on the printer display), I can also ping the printer... but when I try to print, it sends it 76bites/101K of data and then stalls.
Now, Ive tried different switches/PCs/cabling... but I get the same result.

The printer prints fine when its on our public network (non-private IPs)

Anyone knows whats going on? all the settings are the same for printing (RAW/port9100/etc...) as when printing from the public network????

Do you have a static IP assigned to the Jetdirect from your public network that you didn't change?

Nope... I have changed the IP on the Jetdirect to 192.168.0.1, mask to 255.255.0.0, gateway to 192.168.0.1 (???) ... I'm not sure about the gateway... the pc is on 192.168.0.2, same mask and no gateway....

As I mentioned earlier, I can ping the printer on that IP... and I'm using a dumb Hub...

I figured it out....
Jetdirect are telnet cappable, but I couldn't telnet in to check on all the settings....
so when I tried to upgrade the firmware using the jetdirect tools, it stalled, but also it reset the jetdirect to default....
so the next time I tried to telnet in I was able to... and also print... woohoo
From the info I got, seems there was an access control list setup to allow only from the original IP range....
so when I changed IP it still wouldn't let a pc from an IP other than that of the access control list to print to it.....
