Can people rate you if "they" have rating turned off?... Ratings should be displayed under Name Icon along side status..

Just curious, I've wanted to rate some people for being, well, less than deserving of a good rating for undisclosed reasons...

Could these "jerks" (for lack of a better word) be giving us "1's" withoung fear of getting a bad rating themselves?

Also, ANAND, I think you should display peoples ratings next to, or under our status... It might make some people be a little more cautious in being so "childish" in some of their posts, and want to make a "better impression".

So, basically the rating system is flawed... *sigh* well, that's alright, can't expect everything to be perfect ;)

I also noticed you can enable "rating" and disable your profile visible, which in turn renders "rating" useless.

hehe

If you haven't already done so you should probably post your request in Forum Issues.

Also Anand doesn't implement new features, Zuni does.

Good idea actually - one shouldn't really be able to rate you until they themselves can be rated...

I don't see how this could be fixed, as long as you allow someone to turn their rating on and off at will. Someone could just turn their ratings on, rate you, and then turn it off again.

Thanks Prodigy, I wasn't aware of "Forum Issues".

It appears that Mod took care of moving it for me :)

Engine, I would think the way to solve it, was to give you a one time option to use "rating" meaning once you enabled it, you can't turn it off.

I still would like to see ratings displayed along side our avatar.

Personally I see no use for the rating system. The member status has some use because it represents how long a person has been here to an extent.

What use is the rating system?

You complain about people giving you a one but I can't count how many times in threads about it I have seen " I give everybody a 10" or "Everyone in this thread gets a 10" The people that do that are no different than people who give everybody 1's. They rate people based on nothing.

No offense meant by this. I just don't see why everybody needs to be "rated" by everybody else.
