Can PC COD:MW2 play against PS3?

I have modern warfare 2 for pc, and I bought it for a friend on ps3 for his birthday. Can we play each other online? Or can ps3 only play ps3, etc?

Nope. Each system can only play others on that system.

PC gamers would slaughter the consoles if it were possible. 😀

As pcgamer wrote about when the tried the ut beta before cross platform was removed, there nothing the programmers can do to prevent the kb/mouse users from slaughtering those on a controller.

Whilst I wholeheartedly agree with this statement, surely they could create some sort of segregation such as Console-only and PC-only servers in addition to mixed platform servers.]

Those console players who get whooped repeatedly on a mixed server could play on a console server and the PC gamers can't complain too much either as they have the service they need.

If I was a console player, I'd personally love to cut my teeth on a PC gamer in an FPS match purely to test my skills and improve them.

And ever since FFXI, I have always wanted a game that console players could play alongside me. Something that did not require twitch reflexes or one where a certain input system had clear superiority over the other.
