Can P4PE boot from USB/flash media?

I'm about to build my first DIY machine, and I'm intrigued by the idea of not installing a legacy floppy drive, but rather replacing it with an Atech Flash media reader. My question is: can something like this (which connects to a USB port on the mobo) be used as a boot device, assuming there's a card in there that has something like bootable DOS on it? Anyone done/heard of anything like this? Also, anyone know of a good reason why I SHOULD include a floppy drive? The only thing I can think of is updating the BIOS.

Here's what I'm purchasing in the next few days:
P4 2.53
Asus P4PE/R/L/SATA
Corsair 512 XMS PC-3200C2 DDR400

i've built a machine with no floppy around this board but i didnt use usb drive though. i just boot off the cd (set in bios)..works great. and for bios flashing, it can be done in windows with the flash utility provided on the cd. would be neat though to boot from a pen drive though.
