can p4 and molex connector on mobo be used together?

i've read about some newer motherboards that have a molex connector for those people that have a power supply that does not have the 4 pin 12v connector. but if your mobo has it, could u attach the 4 pin 12v along with the 4 pin molex?? won't this result in a more stable system since the motherboard has more wires to draw power from? makes sense since the 6 pin aux and 4 pin 12v were made to decrease the amount of draw on the 20pin atx wires.

Why not? I'm sure I'm not the only one doing it. I don't know if it helps, but I don't see how it could hurt.
