can other mobile phone companies receive text messages from a Cingular user?

just wonderin if Sprint, Verizon, etc. can receive text messages Cingular and vice versa?

sure can as long as you know your pin number/phone number. Worst case scenario, you give out your wireless email addy (mine= #@mobile.att.net or #@wireless.att.net).

I have Cingular and I can text message to an ATT phone

The only major provider that doesn't support true SMS is Sprint.

All others should be compatible. I get text messages on my Verizon phone from AT&T users just fine. 🙂
