Can other clients on VPN see you?

On a public VPN like ipvanish or private internet access,can the other clients connected to the VPN connect to your computer if you have ports open?

I assume once you are connected to a VPN your router firewall no longer takes effect correct?

If the public VPN is configured properly, then no, other clients cannot see your devices.
