Can or should you lap FC-PGA CPU's?

you can, but its HIGHLY recommended against it....the covering is already extremely thin. They are pretty smooth already, I don't know of anyone personally that has felt it was worth the risk.

Don't bother. You'd end up lapping the CPU core off anyway.

Unlike the old PPGA celerons, there is nothing but a very thin coating between the heatsink and the actual silicon. It's a bad idea..very bad.
