Can opteron 939 use a regular 939 Nforce 4 ultra board that an A64 would use?

939 opterons will run in most if not all regular 939 boards. They are not officially certified, but like the other guy said, they are essentially the same thing, and just cherry picked.

If your board supports an A64 @ a particular mhz rating, dual core etc... it will suppor the equivalent Opteron

Most nforce4 boards using socket939 will support 939 Opterons, albeit, some may need a bios update

If you don't overclock, then there is no need to pay more for the Opteron. On the average, an Opty MAY outclock its A64 counterpart by 200MHz. There are many other variables that can affect the overclock, such as RAM, MB, cooling, etc....
