can one uninstall mandrake from a slave drive using win2k and ....how can i partition a HDD in win2k?

You can uninstall *ANY* OS by reformatting the partition that it is on. :)

To do just that in Win2K, Admin Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management.

ok....but if i install linux on a slave drive partition how would i boot into it? would there be an option before either of them boot...and if i want to delete linux would there still be this opton in the boot part of the disk? i apologize for the ignorance...

When you install Linux, you *should* have the option where LILO (the LInux LOader) would reside. If you put LILO on the Linux partition, you can then use BootPart (from www.winimage.com) to add Linux to the Win2K boot loader menu.

To delete Linux from the menu, remove the associated line in C:\boot.ini. You can also delete the 512K file referenced in the line you deleted.
