Ok as a lot of you know if you own a linksys router by default its known as linksys. last night i changed the name to a personal name. After i confirmed my settings i figured i would get kicked off the internet and i would need to search for the personalize name network but it wasn't i was still on a linksys one but now its at "low" speeds like 24mb only, So i run a search for wireless networks my personalize on showed up as full speed and a linksys showed up 24mb unprotected.

Prior to changing it i was unprotected on a linksys network. I think it is mines but i cant delete it. I dont want people hacking on it or anything like that. Is there a way for me to handle this?

you are seeing your neighbors linksys router, still at defaults. Hence the slower speed and quality of signal.

Linksys routers (at least not stock) do not support Multiple SSID's, or MBSSID (multiple Beacon SSID's)
