Can notebook processors be upgraded?

They're different than normal desktop CPUS (well... some P4 laptops have regular P4's in them, which is stupid.. )

For example, the mobile P3 tualatins on the Inspiron 8100 could be upgraded to 1.2ghz but it's pretty spendy.

I'm actually really interested myself. I have a Dell Latitude CpiA366 that I would love to upgrade. ANyone got any ideas? Can it be done?

90% of the time the answer is "no".
The chips are so integrated into their motherboards, often the only way to upgrade the processor was to upgrade the whole $500-1000 board.
There are a few exceptions, but very few. 🙁
