A friend has a few computers hooked directly to a Linksys BEFSX41 4 port router, then on to a Cox cablemodem. he wanted help disabling the router's firewall so enable an application that was having problems traversing it (proprietary automotive dignostic stuff. He's a mechanic and this setup is in his shop.
I jumped onto one of the computers to access the Router admin page to explore putting an exception address into the ACL in or just turning off the Firewall sicne his computers are all firewalled as well...typed "192.168.1.1" and got nothing.
Pinging at the command line yielded the same results.
This computer is traversing the router fine and working with the net. Is there any reason that the admin address would be hidden? Different? The quick start manual for the router indicated that was the access address.
Thanks
