Can not install XP.

So I got a new MB Asus P4V800D-X and CPU P4 3 gig and I'm trying to install XP professional. I can see the WD800 Caviler HD. on post but when the XP install gets to the point where it starts windows it hangs. I have gotten to the point where Windows tries to examine the HD but it will hang doing that as well.

I have....

Updated the MB bios.
Disabled raid in the bios.
Formated and setup the HD with western digital software.
Tried to load Raid drivers with Raid enabled to see if that would work.
Took the HD out and tried installing XP from another PC and is would get past the hang problem so I think the issue is with the MB.
I tried installing to another HD and had the same hang issue when I hit enter to choose to install XP.

I'm not sure what I can try next.

Anyone have any ideas?

Oh it's a EIDE HD by the way.

Before installing I also run Memtest86 to ensure the ram is workin properly. Bad ram will foul up an install.

Double check the jumpers on the WD HDD. IIRC, it's the one if on its own IDE channel must have the jumpers removed to work properly as master (haven't tried one with setting to cable select, though).
