Hi, I just built a computer and installed Windows XP. Most of the stuff works fine, except the integrated ethernet port.
The MOBO is a Gigabyte 81875 Ultra . According to the Gigaybte website. The integrated ethernet port is a
Intel Pro/1000 CT Network Connection. I could not find the network driver in the software that was supplied with the motherboard.
I got a driver from the gigabyte site as well as from Intel's website, the message i got upon trying to install was
"There was a problem installing this hardware
Intel (R) PRO/1000 CT Network Connection

This device cannot start (Code 10)"

Can you tell me what to do?

Regards

Try uninstalling the nic in device manager, and then scan for hardware changes. When windows wants to install it's drivers, say no and point it towards the mobo cd. Let us know how this turns out...

If the nic isn't showing up in device manager, then have you tried logging in as administrator then installing it? Or, have you tried loading it using safe mode?

I know on most Nforce 2 mobos you need to go in the bios and enable the integrated NIC...that could be why the drvier is saying it can't find the device, good luck
