can not find SirC32.exe WTF is this?/?

hey im on my friends' machine and the only program that will open is
IE (5 i think). any other program and a pop-up will say cannot find SirC32.exe
WTF is up?
is this SirCam32 virus?
there is no SCAM32.exe on the machine.

help!!

oh yeah the machine is running win 98. thought i'd add that in. i don't believe they have an anti-virus program

Go here and download the fixsirc.com removal tool.

Run it. Then go to "start", "run" and then in the run prompt type in "edit c:\autoexec.bat". Remove the line that says something along the lines of "@win c:\recycled\sirc32.exe" if it exists. Save your changes and then reboot the machine. All programs should be running and you shouldn't be getting any errors.
