Hello everyone,

a few weeks ago a bought ASUS Transformer Book Trio, TX201L. It worked fine until today - I woke it up from sleep and saw the wireless card is disabled. The option in settings -> Change PC Settings -> Wireless is grayed out. I run troubleshoot and it says I should enable wireless with hardware button. I do not have such a thing, I have Fn+F2 which enables and disables Flight mode (and I disabled that, so it's not a problem). I loaded optimized defaults F9 in BIOS. I can not find a way to enable it back on. I tried Enable / Disable in Network Settings. I can not contact Technical Support Until Monday.

Please help quickly... I'll provide more data if desired.

Hi Harv,

yes, I did check out user manual did basic google search. What they call "Enabling WiFi" is selecting a network from the list of available networks and has nothing to do with enabling the device in the system, which is what I described.

Fortunately but strangely, the thing just worked out spontaneously. At this point I'm quite sick of this laptop, because it has quite a bit of strange flaws, and also has no Ethernet port, so you have to rely on this wireless and pray it does not bug up like it did on me. Also, support from Asus is an atrocity, their laptops from 4 years ago were great, but this thing barely works and sells for the high price.

Even if I restarted like 15 times before, here's how it started working: turn off both PC and tablet. Waited about an hour. Turned on without power cord. Wireless ended up being disabled, but not grayed out. It was just a matter of enabling it in settings - pc settings - wireless.

Glad you got it working. Until you move to your next machine, a USB to ethernet adapter lke this may be useful.

This one's $8.59 at Newegg. Don't know anything about the reliability of this particular model, but a little research should help you find a good one.

I have a problem though. This thing just got disabled again. The only idea what could it be is something that has to with hybernation - I put it in hybernation both times.

Well, I just bought this piece of garbage a month ago... was looking forward to it lasting a few years or so. Don't need the Ethernet as much as Wireless, it's trouble only when the wireless screws up like here. As for ordering from Neweg, I can't do that because I live in a God-forsaken country. Research is not a problem - I work in IT for a living.

Is there a way to send the signal to enable wireless to OS without kb shourtcuts? Tried re-installing the driver, disabling etc... but OS thinks this thing is disabled. Any ideas?

For me I had got the same problem, impossible to restore the wifi connection. But after several and useless restart of computer, it was finally because of temporarily unreadable SD card inside ... then I get out the SD card it was OK. Then I put back the SD card and always OK for the Wifi connection.
