I am trying to install XP RC-1 from a cd and it will not boot from cdrom.
My MB is a BE6-2 With xu bios. I have gone into the bios and changed the boot order to cdrom with no luck. Can not make a boot disk on floppies for XP. Could it be a problem with the highpoint 366 controler??? I need your help.

it should have worked for you if you downloaded the rc1 from microsoft or recieved the cd in the mail from micrsoft. If you have a cracked version which it sounds like you can visit www.windowsxp.nu i think they have something about boot disks there.

Make sure you have the cdrom plugged into the regular IDE Controller, not the HPT366 and it will work. I have a BE6-II and that worked for me.

I have paid for the rc-1 from Microsoft. The problem is the only way i can install the program is to install Windows 98 first and then Xp. I can not get the cd to boot. I need XP boot floppies.
