Can normal usb cable be used to connect printer?

Can I connect my printer to my computer with a normal A-B USB cable or do I have to shell out the extra dough for a special "printer" version? Looks like the simple one would do...

Virtually all data transfer cables have some sort of shielding, some better than others. Just use one you have one laying around--if it gives you problems, spring for a better one.
