Can non-domain computers authenticate to a network that uses IAS?

We're making a move to using a RADIUS server, but one of the questions we had was concerning some of our users that did not use domain computers. I work for a school district, and we outsource a few of the specials instructors from a third party organization, but they do need network connectivity when they are here.

Is it as simple as installing a certificate onto their laptop? If so or if not, can anyone please point me to a link or explain how this is done?

Thanks

What are you using IAS authentication for? Wireless?

It depends on your deployment/IAS policies. We use IAS for VPN authentication, and the IAS policy just checks that the person authenticating is a member of an AD Group. It would work from any PC, domain member or not.

Yes, it would be used for wireless.

We currently have over 1,000 clients that are using a WPA-personal key. Yeah..
