I have a 5 year old Dell laptop running Windows XP 2005 media version that has DVD-RW drive. After loading in a blank DVD, I am attempting to drag + drop a folder from the harddrive into the window for Drive and I got an error message that states:

Problem Copying
windows has encountered a problem when trying to copy this folder. What do you want Windows to do?

My options:
Retry, Skip, or Cancel

I have tried dragging + dropping different folders but I get the same message. I went to Dell's website and after typing in the service tag for the laptop I downloaded and installed the only available DVD drive driver for the laptop and I restarted it. Unfortunately, it still does not work.

Any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with the media version, but am guessing a program or driver that xp loads when the computer boots to enable this isn't loading or loading properly. Someone who's more familiar with this should be able to chime in with more info tho.
